Sections of the Notebook
Every Notebook contains 5 sections separated with 5 labeled dividers.
1. HOMEWORK and schedule which contains hard copies of the homework page from Mr. Fruean's website. The homework page gives 2 weeks of classwork and homework information at a time.
2. ASSIGNMENTS which contains a table of contents with all assignments in order behind it. The table of contents contains grade percentages earned and demerits received. Students are given time in class daily to update their table of contents, so this document should always have the most current data. Each six weeks this section will be cleaned out and set up for the new six weeks.
3. REFLECTIONS which contains personal entries about class management, lessons, homework, assessments, discussions, teams, school-wide issues, and other topics.
4. ASSESSMENTS which contains pop quizzes, test, projects evals, etc...
5. VOCABULARY which contains the key vocabulary for each unit.
*Students also use the TOC to keep track of their grade percentage earned on each assignment and any demerits collected. As assignments are completed and graded, the papers are placed behind the TOC in a specific order.
**Each assignment has a number and category code in the upper right hand corner to help students organize work in the notebook.
***The students are given time in class daily to keep the TOC up to date. At any given time a student, parent, or teacher may examine the quarterly TOC to evaluate the student's progress in the class in the five categories.
